Book Review: Last Act The Final Years and Emerging Legacy of Ronald Reagan

First off, I want to thank BookLook Bloggers for this opportunity.

With that said, I truly enjoyed this book.

Why? Well, because in MY opinion, President Reagan was AWESOME! And the chance to read a book about the man, was a real pleasure and honor.

Now for my own personal opinion of President Ronald Reagan: I didn't like his first four years as I was from a democratic state, so you know...you just kind of blend with the crowd. It was his SECOND term that made me a Republican, a person of worth and gave me what it took to keep moving forward for mine and my childs' future. He was a great man and a very strong president. It's my opinion that if certain groups knew that great president, they either wouldn't exist as he simply would not tolerate it or they wouldn't have the same opinions as they have today.

I hated the fact that he made it HARD for people like me to breathe, as in, I had to work my butt off and EARN everything in life and he taught me strength - as in, he made government assistance what it was meant to be, ASSISTANCE. He gave us our personal freedoms while he took care of the country/government. And it's his role in my life that I have carried forward: work hard, plan for your future and leave a legacy for your children. Things I grew up with and to have a president WANT that for you too, that was the way to be.

The author, Craig Shirley, shared Mr Reagan's inner life in a way that it seemed you were right there! You see the behind the scene life of this incredible president and I truly enjoyed every page of this book. I can also relate to Mrs Reagan, as my own father had the form of Alzeimers that completely stole his mind. I'm the fifth child and my father only knew my two oldest sisters. It's a terrible disease and I give huge kudos to Nancy for dealing with Ronald's illness as eloquently as she did.

Mr Reagan, because of his acting history, was comfortable in his position of POTUS. He had a calm, demeanor but could make you laugh with ease on one hand and could be the firmest, immovable power force that made us, as a whole country, great.

If you want to know more about the real man President Reagan was - Ronald - please pick up this book, it's a wonderful read and very inclusive into the daily life of what it was for the Reagan family in his final years as president and as a man.

Thanks to Book Look Bloggers, they made it possible for me to read such an amazing and encouraging book!
