New Study Suggests Spices May Promote Digestive Health

We stick with Garlic, Cinnamon, Tumeric, Grape Seed, Capsacium and Flax, BUT...I am expanding on this:

New Study Suggests Spices May Promote Digestive Health
According to a new study in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, researchers in India found that black pepper, red pepper, ginger, and spice bioactive compounds, piperine and capsaicin (found in black and red pepper, respectively) may positively impact gastrointestinal health. In the study, researchers fed rats doses of dietary spices that were comparable to intake levels in the Indian population. After eight weeks, researchers found that the spices and compounds significantly enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity in the digestive tract – suggesting that these spices may play a role in promoting gastrointestinal health. The spices were also found to protect the digestive tract by suppressing oxidative stress induced by ethanol. The researchers concluded that the spices (due to their antioxidant activity) may offer anti-inflammatory benefits and protect the health of the digestive tract.
